What a day for a day
What a time to be alive
I feel alright I feel alright I feel alright alright
Roll out of bed heavy head
I can’t remember when you left
Oh my god oh my god oh my god

I can’t believe what I’ve found
Got my feet back on the ground
I got you outta my head
I got you outta my head
I got you outta my head
I got you outta my head
Everybody clap your hands

What a day for a day
What a time to be alive
I feel alright I feel alright I feel alright alright
Roll out of bed heavy head
I can’t remember when you left
Oh my god oh my god oh my god

I can’t believe what I’ve found
Got my feet back on the ground
I got you outta my head
I got you outta my head
I got you outta my head
I got you outta my head
Everybody clap your hands

Well hello again
it’s my old familiar friend
In the looking glass
I can’t help but looking past it all
Hands reach out to me
Reaching for the mouth from which I breathe
Pain is like a ghost
It’s only really there if you believe
In what you see
When the floorboards start to creak
Oh it’s killing me

How do you like it baby
How do you like it

Here we go again
Round the old familiar bend
I’ve been here before
Seen all the things that wash along the shore
Hands reach up to me
Reaching for the heart from which I bleed
Pain is like a curse
I know it isn’t there

How do you like it baby
How do you like it

First time I really felt your ignition
Hopped the fence behind dans transmission
Back seat of a rusted out Mercedes
Poor old girl had been parked there since the 80s
Back in those days we were just so young
Couldn’t picture a life
That wasn’t on the run
in that car I could feel your heart beating
At least back then we had something to believe in

Yeah I really turned my self around
Got a straight job in town
They say busy hands fix a broken heart
I’m still waiting on that second part well
Yeah it’s gonna take some time
Not used to things working out fine
I got my feet back on the ground
Just wish my crazy heart could settle down

Once upon a time I was the queen of the city
Now I’m working doubles just to eek out a living
Wiping down tables aint as bad as it could be
Come on babe this ain’t the way it should be
I punch in for a starting wage
At least it’s clean at least I’m paid
Still think of those nights in abandoned cars
I guess I never thought I’d ever make it this far well

Yeah I really turned my self around
Got a straight job in town
They say busy hands fix a broken heart
I’m still waiting on that second part well
Yeah it’s gonna take some time
Not used to things working out fine
I got my feet back on the ground
Just wish my crazy heart could settle down

I feel sad
I never hurt so bad
And now
You’re gone
I don’t wanna love no more

I don’t wanna break your heart
I don’t wanna break your heart
I don’t wanna break your heart

I don’t wanna be in love
I don’t wanna be in love
I don’t wanna be in love
I don’t wanna be in love

And now you’re out there with your buds
Your out on the town
With all your favourite songs

I don’t wanna break your heart
No I don’t wanna break your heart
I don’t wanna break your heart

I don’t wanna be in love
I don’t wanna be in love
I don’t wanna be in love
I don’t wanna be in love

In the garden of the sons
There’s so much room for everyone
Lonely future, lowly past
Come and lay down in the grass

Up here they are so beautiful
Where love will never die
Taste the fruit so bountiful
Look down on all the little ones
From the garden of the sons

In the garden of the sons
They’re all relaxing having fun
Lonely future, lowly past
Come and lay down in the grass

Up here they are so beautiful
Where love will never die
Taste the fruit so bountiful
Look down on all the little ones
From the garden of the sons

Wanna see you wanna speak your name
Wanna go and wanna walk your way
And I’m running out of things to say
Yeah I’m running out of things to say

Talk to me some more
I’ve got nothing on the go
I’m just hanging round at home
Maybe we could
Stick together

The sky it never looked so blue
When I’m walking down your avenue
And I’m wondering if you think of me too
When you’re walking down your avenue

Call me on the phone
I got nothing on the go
Just hanging round at home
Maybe we could
Stick together

I got nothing on the go
I’m just hanging round at home
Call me on the phone
Maybe we could

Black and gold just like the bandit
Fast enough that mama can’t stand it
Passenger side is looking pretty empty
Come on babe I know you think it’s tempting

Golden wings spread across my engines
Guess you could say they bring me closer to heaven
Four on the floor I know you hear me coming
Come on baby do you ever wonder

If I can take you higher
On these wings of fire
We’re coming down to the wire
On these wings of fire

Learning to fly ain’t as hard as it seems
Just need some wheels and a couple big dreams
I’m gonna pick you up when your work is done
Gonna take you to the city gonna have a little fun yeah
Golden wings spread across my engine
Guess you can say it brings me closer to heaven
Four on the floor I know you hear me coming
Come on baby do you ever wonder

If I can take you higher
On these wings of fire
Were coming down to the wire
On these wings of fire

Am I okay?
Well I’ve been running for miles I’m a little out of breath but I’m breathing
Yeah I’m breathing
I’ll take what I can get
Can I stay with you?
Just for a night just like old times I can bring some wine
We’ll be lying on the floor yeah
All the years just
Disappear when what you leave behind is standing right here
It gets clearer
When I see ya
I’m dreaming on a fever but I think I really need ya

All I got to lose is nothing
Heart is beating like a drum

Friday night lights at the football game
Teenage dreamers just smiling through the pain and I
Never knew you felt that way
Maybe if I did baby then I woulda stayed but
Now I’m older heart is colder
Funny how it never works out like they told ya
Chased the sun to California
Standing by the ocean just wishing I could hold ya

And I’m living in a dream
Here come the boys from the Halifax team
With their matching jackets satin sheen
Tryna get a chance with the homecoming queen
Yeah I remember when that was me
Well you know I never played but you know what I mean yeah

I’m tryna tell ya how I really feel
But the words that I say baby they can’t reveal
I’m tryna get through
But it makes me so blue
When you won’t meet me in the middle
You won’t meet me in the middle
You won’t meet me in the middle baby meet me there

You’re tryna tell me how you really feel
It the words that you say baby they can’t reveal
I’m tryna get back
But I just can’t keep track
when you won’t meet me in the middle
You won’t meet me in the middle
You won’t meet me in the middle baby meet me there

Quarter mile courage and a stiff upper lip
There’s a fire in your chest like a 426
I can feel your motor running heart beat like a fist
I know I know I know I know I know

There’s a feeling coming up from deep inside
Gonna put the hammer down let her open up wide
I can feel it in my bones I can see it in your eyes
Yeah I know I know I know I know

Maybe this time we can finally make it
Just let it bend without tryna break it
Come a little closer baby I can’t take it
No more no more no more no more

Burning up burning up baby
Lighting up just like a flame well I’m
Burning up burning up baby
Burning up burning up
Watch me go

Once upon a time you were new on the scene
Just a groovy little chick with the washed out jeans
Wanna get a little closer wanna know what you mean
I know I know i know I know I know

Hey little girl is your daddy home
Ain’t you getting sick and tired of being there all alone
Won’t you give me just a call won’t you pick up the phone
Say hello hello hello hello

Maybe this time we can finally make it
Just let it bend without tryna break it
Come a little closer baby I can’t take it
No more no more no more no more

Burning up burning up baby
Lighting up just like a flame well I’m
Burning up burning up baby
Burning up burning up
Watch me go

Wish that I could feel this all the time
Everything is gravy in my mind
We could ride the wave it feels so right
We could ride the wave

I was running we were rolling
Yeah some of that candy land strolling
With the blue sky smiling
Walking that golden mile

High stepping like a runaway pheasant
Fly high like a dove on a wire well baby I
You got me flying like an aeroplane
You got me turning like a hurricane
Yeah because I know that you know
Because you show that you show
So won’t you wind up and throw it
I haven’t touched the ground
Baby since you’ve been around
Yeah come on and break it down hop skip and turn around
Wave hands see friends say hello
I love the way you look at me
It’s like I’m walking through a dream

Wish that I could feel this all the time
Everything is gravy in my mind
We could ride the wave it feels so right
We could ride the wave

Stop the presses
Girls walk by in summer dresses
Cocktail umbrella sunset don’t want it to end yet
Shining like a diamond in an antique store
Yeah well you know what they say you gotta go your own way to bring back what the heart desires
Now I know what I’ve been missing
Babe it could’ve been you I was kissing

Wish that I could feel this all the time
Everything is gravy in my mind
We could ride the wave it feels so right
We could ride the wave

Suns sinking so I better swim
All the waves kneel down to the holy wind
Oh my lord I’m gonna need an ocean
To cleanse my sins

Pretty mama can you save my soul
Do you believe in love and in rock n roll
What do you see when the lights go out
At the end of the show

When I close my eyes
I see yellow lines
I’m looking for a sign at the end of it all
I’ve been running for miles
My whole life
Looking to find
You’re at the end of it all

As the locusts fill the skies
And all the pharaohs horses wash away with the tides
Remember me I’ll be waiting by the highway side
If you need a ride

Pretty mama can you save my soul
Do you believe in love and in rock and roll
What do you see when the lights go out
At the end of the show

When I close my eyes
I see yellow lines
I’m looking for a sign at the end of it all
I’ve been running for miles
My whole life
Looking to find
You’re at the end of it all
